HTTPS encryption has become so important that web browsers encourage website owners to take action. For example, starting in January 2017, Chrome will distinguish sites that have or have not installed SSL with a warning message.

Starting in January 2017, Chrome 56 will display a distinctive sign for sites that do not use an HTTPS connection, in order to persuade website owners to use secure connections for users, especially when storing personal data and making online transactions on web pages.

In conclusion, HTTPS encryption can only have benefits and the cost of an SSL is affordable for any website owner.
